Phd Scholarship in Labour History (scadenza 30 novembre)

|   Bandi

The University of Wolverhampton and the General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU) have created a PhD Studentship in Labour History. As part of the developing partnership between the University of Wolverhampton and the General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU) we have created a PhD Studentship in Labour History. The holder of the award will be based in the Centre for Historical Research (CHR) in the Department of History, Politics and War Studies. The CHR has an established research reputation in labour, social, and working-class history. It has a growing post-graduate community and academic staff committed to research that has public impact. The studentship has been established to enable a postgraduate researcher to examine the history of the GFTU and in particular its formation in the 1890s and its relationship with other trade union organisations and progressive political movements. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in or knowledge of the British labour movement. The research will be supervised by Professor Keith Gildart. Part-time tuition fees for 3-5 years will be covered by the GFTU with additional research support costs provided by the CHR.
