Il Dipartimento di Economia dell'Università Ca' Foscari Venezia, l'Università di Trento, l'Università Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne e INED (Institut National d'Etudes Démographiques) hanno organizzato la prima conferenza in memoria di Valeria Solesin "ResearchForValeria Conference 2016" - Come on girls, let's work! / Allez les filles, au travail! / Forza ragazze, al lavoro!
Durante la giornata si discuteranno i più recenti sviluppi nei settori della demografia, dell'economia e della sociologia, con focus sulle disparità di genere, sul ruolo della donna nel lavoro e nella società, sulle politiche di welfare mirate a conciliare famiglia e lavoro.

Di seguito il CFP preparato per l'evento:
A trained sociologist and demographer, Valeria was starting the final stage of her PhD at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne on contemporary fertility behavior in Italy and France. Her main research interests involved marriage and family, the role of women in the labour market and in society, and fertility decisions. This one-day conference provides an opportunity for presentations and discussions on recent developments in the fields of Demography, Economics, and Sociology as described below. Contributions to the conference can be either theoretical, empirical or policy oriented. Contributions addressing the following specific topics will be particularly welcome:
- Gender inequalities
- The role of women in the labour market and in society
- Welfare policies targeted to the labour supply of women and fertility decisions
- Marriage, family and sexuality.
Young scholars, such as PhD students and post-docs, are encouraged to apply.
Best paper prize entitled to Valeria Solesin Selected papers will be considered for the "Valeria Solesin Prize", thanks to the generosity of the Foundation Udinese per la Vita Onlus, to be awarded to a Ph.D. student. The prize amounts to €4000.00, in addition travelling and accommodation for the winner of the prize will be fully covered.
