|   SISLav

Dear Friends,

The 46th annual conference of the International Association of Labour History Institutions (IALHI) will take place this year at the National Library of Scotland, Edinburgh, from 16 to 19 September.
Traditionally analogue archival sources, audio and film recordings have been used to document the heritage of migrant workers and their involvement in the labour movement. However, the emergence of new digital technologies and platforms, including the web and social media, presents new and innovative opportunities for curators, librarians and archivists to collect, share and disseminate new and fresh material by engaging directly with the principal actors.
The conference will offer an open forum to discuss and explore the links between collections and research, as well as current methodologies, approaches and challenges to curating and making accessible collections relating to this significant aspect of contemporary social history. We invite fifteen minute papers that address this topic. The conference also welcomes proposals for ten minute presentations of projects based on your collections or ongoing research initiatives.Submissions must include:
•an abstract (300words)
•a biographical note (200words)
•full postaland email address

Please send your proposals to
Maria Castrillo, ialhi2015@gmail.com
no later than Tuesday 30th June 2015.
I have included a registration form for the conference. Please return it to the address below or by email attachment to ialhi2015@gmail.com no later than Friday 24th July 2015.

If you require a formal invitation (for visa purposes), please send me the request as soon as possible to the same address.
I hope to welcome you in Edinburgh in September.
Kind regards, Amitiés, Saludos,
